Our first impressions of Montreal were not great and we decided to take advice and travel 2.5 hours to Quebec.
The effort was well worth it as Quebec is fascinating.
The drive was interesting too.
The speed limit on motorways is 100kph max (which is far too slow for the conditions) and 60kph minimum.
There are penalties for speeding. $95 for 120, $150 for 130 and $250 for 140.
Most drivers opt for $95!
The roads to Quebec are also slightly rutted probably from snow tyre damage which demanded full attention to keep the car between the lines.
Looks like perfect weather for sitting at a Quebec City cafe. It ain't Paris but has its own charm.
