After Whistler we returned to Chris and Waynes house at Gibsons which is a ferry ride north of Vancouver in an area called the Sunshine Coast.
PENDER HARBOUR
We drove an hour or so North of Gibsons to Pender Harbour which is close to where Cousin Sandra and her, soon to be husband, Jan are going to live.
Jan works for a very wealthy couple who own 14 acres of land fronting on to an ocean inlet and are turning it into a religious retreat. He has been working for them for 15 years doing landscaping and general building work and is multi-talented.
By luck he and Sandra learnt of a run down property two doors away which was going for a song so they are in process of renovating the house. The retreat is apparently worth $C 14 million so they are very pleased with their acquisition which cost nothing like that and is in a magnificent setting.
