FRANCE 2012
Goodbye Sydney. Airport to the right, city centre to the left.
We flew from Sydney to Abu Dhabi with Virgin Airways now in partnership with Etihad whom we booked with - always the tough leg - 15 hours. Plenty of room if you like sitting. We thought the food was a bit average and my earphones kept slipping down below my ears. I don't have as much hair as Richard Branson! The 6 hour leg to Paris was more enjoyable. Food distinctly better. After arrival we pick up a Renault Clio Diesel lease car for the 5 hour drive to Guemene. Surprisingly it's not so exhausting as it sounds but it's good when we get there. We have a TOM TOM satellite navigator with a lovely English lady telling us what to do. We have christened her Lady Penelope!
The boules court in the park opposite has been removed and a new lawn planted.
Our own garden is the usual jungle.
There is a new sign advertising Thursday Markets in the town. We thought to our dismay they were going to hold them in the park.
Our garden after a couple of days work. Our lawnmower is a pretty handy tool.
