This is Roger and Judy’s home town. It is the Capitol of Canada and just across a river from French speaking Quebec. They say 35% of Quebecers would still like to be separated from Canada if given a choice, but there is very little chance of that.
It has turned out to be a real surprise. A gem of a city with lots of attractive buildings.
Canadian Parliament building.
Judy, Cathy and Roger outside Parliament.
Canal system in the heart of the city. The beginning of a string of waterways built by the British to take warships to the St Lawrence River about 200Km away.
Waterfall in centre of city.
Schoolchildren in canoe of type used by early French explorers.
Squirrel stealing food put out for stray cats.
One of the famous “Cats on the Hill” asleep in front of Parl. House. Cats are encouraged to stay by being fed in a special enclosure. Obviously they don’t bother the squirrels!
